Capitalizing on extensive education and experience in corporate change leadership, executive coaching, and management consulting, Colleen Slaughter founded Authentic Leadership International (ALI) in 2009. She coaches people and organizations to achieve lasting, satisfying change by aligning themselves with their true desires and talents. Fluent in French with working knowledge of German and Spanish, Colleen helps clients living in the U.S. and abroad.
As an Executive and Leadership Coach, she has propelled clients to experience greater satisfaction, performance, and productivity by enhancing their abilities to identify, connect with, and then act from their core values. An ontological coach, she completed the Newfield Network’s graduate-level program on mastering the art of professional coaching. She supports clients in accessing the profound ability they possess to affect change through language, knowledge of their own body’s reactions, and mastery of their moods and emotions.
As a Speaker, her lively delivery style and expertise in leadership, change management, organization development, and other topics make her a natural at engaging and motivating audiences. Three of her favorite talks are “The Six Emotions That Shape You as a Leader,” “Increase 2011 Revenues by Understanding the Dynamics of Multi-Cultural Markets,” and “Gaining a Seat at the Table: Expanding Your Visibility and Influence,” for which she has already earned acclaim.
As a Management Consultant, Colleen has pioneered the establishment of new areas of expertise – and designed and implemented several impactful change initiatives – for multinational companies such as: General Motors, Altran, Alstom, SanofiAventis, Deutsche Post, O2, France Telecom, Husky, and Heinz. Spanning Europe, North America, and parts of Asia, Colleen’s consulting has led directly to dramatic bottom-line improvements.
Prior to establishing ALI, Colleen lived and worked in Europe for 13 years, where she began her career with such roles as: overseeing partner evaluations at PricewaterhouseCoopers; working among lawyers and pharmaceutical researchers; and seven years as a change management consultant for Fortune 500 companies. These early positions across several countries and subject areas gave her a broad understanding of organizational functions and sharpened her skills in thought leadership, adaptability, and multi-cultural issues.
Certified to use and interpret the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI ™) and the TILT 360° Leadership Predictor™ and is a certified Energy Leadership™ Index Master Practitioner. She is an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coach Federation (ICF) and the 2011 Vice President/ President Elect of its Raleigh Area Chapter (ICF-RAC). In 2009, she also trained to become a Registered Yoga Teacher (RYT-200). Since January 2011, she has served as a volunteer Career Coach for Dress For Success Triangle, NC.
Colleen holds an MBA with an Entrepreneurship specialization from the prestigious HEC in Paris and a BA in French and BBA in Business Management from the University of Kentucky, where she worked for the two degrees in under four years and graduated with honors. Colleen has studied with Ariana Strozzi and Stuart Heller, internationally recognized educators on how, by working in the non-verbal, you can influence how you shift your results, show up, or act in everyday life.
“Colleen displayed an adept balance between compassion and pushing me to develop. She has a great way of getting people to look at something from a different perspective and to stay in alignment with that person’s priorities. Most of all, Colleen’s caring and professional approach helped me identify and face things part of me would prefer not to and to bring out the best in me.
Colleen has a knack for her craft. She is a natural. She uses her many layers of knowledge to come up with creative suggestions. Her gentle and guiding questions make the process of self-discovery easier and more joyful than I have ever experienced. Just about everything she said seemed to be the right question at the right time. That’s where Colleen stands out head and shoulders over other people.”
